MARSHALL ALERTS: 2020 – A YEAR IN REVIEW

Happy New Year from the Marshall Lawyers team. We hope everyone had a relaxing break and is recharged for the year ahead.

2020 was a challenge, however Marshall Lawyers was fortunate enough to enjoy the stability that WA provided. We expanded our team, assisted a leading property developer and manager become one of Australia’s largest rental management businesses, assisted with an ASX listing of an exploration company, and conducted a legal due diligence in relation to a proposed acquisition of a large WA gold mining project.

A cornerstone of our philosophy is our commitment to delivering positive outcomes for our clients, with no matter being too large or too small. The diversity of our client-base, ranging from individuals to international corporations, ensures that we are always assessing our clients’ commercial objectives and tailoring our advice to provide the best possible results.

With COVID restrictions in full force, the various government incentives introduced to stimulate the economy led to a sharp increase in property developments. The increased activity in this space required us to assist our clients in navigating new development requirements as well as expediting applications.

In conjunction with this, much of the past year was dedicated to assisting with the public listing of junior exploration company Metal Hawk Limited (ASX: MHK), which successfully completed in mid-November 2020.

Leveraging off Chris’ extensive experience in the mining and resources industry, Marshall Lawyers continues to be involved in the transactional side of commercial law.

Marshall Lawyers looks forward to continuing to help our clients identify and achieve their commercial goals in the year ahead. We wish you all the very best and hope that 2021 turns out to be a successful and productive year.
